Step 1 - Venue Tour and Initial Event Meeting
The first step is to meet for a venue tour and to discuss your event requirements, as well as your rehearsal and performance schedule and anticipated attendance numbers. This gives us a sense of your vision and goals for the event, so we can offer innovative ideas and appropriate suggestions.
Step 2 - Event Proposal
We use the information gathered in our tour and meeting to provide a proposal for your event. We ensure that you receive a clear and detailed estimate for your planning and budgeting purposes. You will have the opportunity to review the proposal and request additional items, shift the event schedule, and adjust equipment requirements. At this time, we will confirm space availability for your preferred dates. We can also place a hold on a date for you. A hold in our calendar is not a confirmed event; if another group is interested in booking the held date, we will contact you. You have 48 hours to reply and confirm or release your hold on the space.
Step 3 - Event Confirmation
When you have chosen your event date and space, we use the event proposal as the basis to develop your event contract and affiliated materials. We send that material to you by email, and you have 14 days to review, sign, and return the material by mail, fax, or in person. A 50% nonrefundable deposit is required with the signed contract.
Step 4 - Event Planning
Once your event is confirmed and contracted, we work closely with you on all the preparations for your event at The Royal Conservatory.
The Royal Conservatory is located at 273 Bloor Street West, between the Royal Ontario Museum and Varsity Stadium. There is a Bloor Street entrance on the north side of the building and an entrance from Philosopher’s Walk on the east side of the building. Please refer to Contact Us for additional information.
Parking and Public Transit
There is no public or private parking at The Royal Conservatory. The most convenient parking lot is at 9 Bedford Road, across from the Bedford Street entrance to the St. George TTC subway station. Pedestrian access to the parking structure is immediately across Bloor Street from The Royal Conservatory. St. George and Museum are the closest TTC subway stations to the building. Walking to the building from either station takes approximately five minutes. St. George station is equipped with wheelchair-accessible elevators.
A 50 percent nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm your booking. The final balance is due 30 days before your event. Any additional rental or labour costs incurred during your event will be billed to you within seven days following your event, for payment within 30 days.
Changes and Cancellations
In case of change or cancellation of your event booking, please notify your Royal Conservatory Event Coordinator immediately. Changes or cancellations must be received in writing by email or post. Your event deposit is nonrefundable. If you cancel less than 30 days before your event, you will be required to pay the full 100 percent balance of the invoice.
If you book your event within 30 days of your event, payment in full will be required at the time of booking.
